Who will be leading spiritual direction at New Bridge as a mission to Community First! Village?

Here is more on the genesis of this missional partnership.

Who will be involved in New Bridge?

New Bridge draws people from a spectrum of backgrounds…from the formerly homeless and chronically disabled at Community First! to caring individuals from faith-based communities to those seeking and searching.   New Bridge is vastly different from most traditional spiritual experiences in that the ministry will connect resourced people to under-resourced brothers and sisters.  The ultimate purpose is to replace hopelessness with the full and free life that God gives.

What does New Bridge believe as a faith community?

In response to great division and theological disputes in the first three centuries of the church, a council formed to bring unity and agreement over the most essential doctrines of Christianity.  One of the creeds that has stood the test of time is the Apostle’s Creed.  This creed became a guiding statement of faith for the Church.

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

New Bridge Austin exists because of Jesus.  Under His name we are unified and for His sake we gather.   We welcome all people – regardless of faith background or life experience.
