Better Together = TEAM (Together Each Accomplishes More)

The past few weeks have been non-stop at Community First!  (CF!) – see the pics below.  We have welcomed in thousands to see and participate in what God is building among us.  As more residents move into CF! (currently, we have about 30), it is apparent that as the challenge escalates, the need for teamwork elevates.  Jesus’ words were spot on:  “The harvest is great, the workers are few” (Luke 10:2).  Translation:  God is changing lives in a powerful way, but there are not enough people joining God in His work.  The solution?  Pray!  Pray that God will raise up more volunteers.  God has answered the prayer by raising up a solid core TEAM of volunteers.

The mission of this team is to create a life-giving spiritual growth model that will launch a wave of dynamic Christ followers from CF! and beyond.   For that mission to unfold, we needed the Lord raise up a team of creative, gifted, passionate, flexible volunteers.   He has provided and will continue to faithfully raise up others who desire to create life-giving environments for folks to know Christ personally, grow spiritually and serve people passionately.  One is too small a number to achieve anything significant.  Thank God for the support, care and encouragement of a team of faithful who are on the front lines of serving the disabled, chronically homeless and mobilizing volunteers to join the mission.

Why are you serving at CF!?

Angela Hugo, Volunteer Coordinator:  “No one deserves to be overlooked.  Serving our friends at CF! and mobilizing volunteers to engage in practical ways gives all of us the opportunity to live out and express the love of Jesus.”

Aidan Cromer, Spiritual Growth Coordinator:  “My passion is to make disciples by teaching people how ‘to fish.’  I love seeing folks utilize their unique gifts and talents to edify and strengthen the greater Body of Christ.”

Denise Boisvert, Administrative Assistant:  “I have always had a compassion for the homeless and marginalized.  Serving with this ministry gives me the opportunity to make a difference by introducing Christ to my friends at CF!”

Julie Thomas, Special Events Coordinator:  “I started serving at CF! because it is very clear God is doing amazing things in and through this ministry.  I am honored to connect residents at CF! with volunteers so that we can all tell inspiring stories of the hope and life change God makes available in Christ.”

Matt Freeman, Pastor / Dude:  “Love God and love people.  It’s not complex.  Most churches are looking for a mission.  It’s refreshing to be a mission that has a church.  I love the entrepreneurial, kingdom nature of helping create a fresh, new expression of the church that empowers communities into a lifestyle of service alongside the disabled, chronically homeless (and formerly homeless).”
